Xanthan Gum
Xanthan Gum Polymer is a high molecular weight Xanthan Gum biopolymer. It used to viscosity water-based drilling and completion fluids. It is primarily a viscosity modifier for Freshwater and Salt Saturated Muds.
Application:
Xanthan Gum Polymer is used in drilling and completion fluids to enhance their Rheology, ensuring efficient whole cleaning. It provides optimum whole cleaning and suspension qualities.
Advantages:
- It provides excellent suspension properties restricting the settlement of weighting agents and drilled cuttings.
- It is stable over a wide pH range and is effective in saturated brines as well as fresh and sea water base drilling fluids.
- It is resistant to bacterial fermentation.
Usage:
Xanthan Gum Polymer should be added Slowly through the hopper to prevent lumping. The time required for the product to yield to its ultimate viscosity depends on the salinity, temperature, and Shear. The amount of the Viscosifier to be used will depend on the desired viscosity but normal dosage ranges from 0.5-2.5 lb/bbl (1.43-7.1 kg/m3) the concentration may be increased to 4lb/bbl (11.5 kg/m3) in case of difficult hole cleaning conditions.
Packaging:
Xanthan Gum is packed in 25kg or 50 Lbs (22.68 Kg) sacks. Private Labelling and customized packaging are also available on request.
Safety and Handling:
Xanthan Gum must be handled as an Industrial chemical, wearing protective equipment and observing the precautions as mentioned in the MSDS.
